Regulating grass growth with CUTAWAY has been shown to:

Reduce the need for mowing

Reduce labour requirement and associated HSE issues

Increase root growth and enhance strength in the root zone

Produce a tighter, denser sward, reducing the opportunity for weeds to establish

Improve water use efficiency and maintain plant health through periods of stress

Reduce the carbon footprint from maintenance operations

How does CUTAWAY work?

CUTAWAY is a new generation grass growth regulator from Syngenta. Following application, vertical growth of treated plants is slower and the blade length shortened, which can significantly reduce the need for mowing.

Growth between nodes is shortened in treated plants with slower growth and shorter leaves. Energy is diverted into lateral growth creating denser plants.
CUTAWAY is rapidly absorbed into the plant. It continuously moves through the leaf to gently suppress growth for weeks.
CUTAWAY temporarily blocks the plant’s production of the growth hormone, gibberellic acid. This reduces the rate of vertical growth, and results in the plant producing more lateral growth and greater root development.
CUTAWAY treatment encourages greater root production producing healthier plants and improved root zone stability.

CUTAWAY works by gently diverting the plant’s natural growth away from vertical leaf growth, to more lateral shoot growth and greater root production – resulting in healthier, more visually attractive grass.
